Please do not disturb!

'Please turn off all mobile phones!' It's becoming a constant problem in theatres up and down the country- performances disturbed by the sound of phones or alarms going off. It can be very distacting to actors- particularly when the audience are so close to the actors as they are at the Rose. Not only phones but constant rustling of sweet wrappers or munching popcorn or having a full conversation with friends as if at home watching TV! The theatre is trying its best - noisy bags of sweets will no longer be on sale. Audiences might notice a few more announcements and requests next time you come to the theatre as a reminder to have a bit more consideration for the actors - and fellow audience members.  Enjoy the shows!
