Nonentities Youth Theatre
The Teachers

Last Update  31-Jan-2012

Director/Teacher - Georgina Biggs

Georgina graduated from Wolverhampton University in 2003 with a BA (hons) Drama 2:1. Upon leaving University Georgina established a theatre company with the intention of doing a one-off international theatre tour. The tour saw the group take an original piece of work across to Canada and premiere at four Fringe Festivals.

Following this she worked as a professional actor with Midland Actors Theatre touring the UK presenting work in theatres, community spaces and schools. Roles included Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Lady Chatterley (Lady Chatterley's Lover).

Before joining the Nonentities Youth Theatre in Kidderminster Georgina taught drama and dance to children and young people in Birmingham. She has also taught drama in secondary schools throughout the Wes Midlands. Georgina has also worked as a Project Manager for Ballet, Birmingham and Me (a high profile partnership project between Birmingham Royal Ballet and Birmingham Youth Services) and as Head of Education and Community at Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham. These roles have provided a solid understanding of the arts infrastructure, the environment that artists operate in and routes in to the creative industries. Georgina is currently on an MA Acting course based out in Poland where she is training alongside the internationally acclaimed theatre company Song of the Goat (Teatr Piesn Kozla). She returns to work with the company upon completion of the course bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, ideas and new skills to share with the Nonentities Youth Theatre.
