The Nonentities Youth Theatre is a company of young actors based at The Rose Theatre, Kidderminster. Weekly actor training is offered alongside the opportunity to collaborate and work towards producing professional performances.
Under the direction of experienced practitioners the friendly and relaxed sessions introduce young people to a range of acting techniques to help to develop them as performers. Maintaining a balance between fun and technical training, sessions are structured to explore and introduce young people to a variety of approaches, skills and techniques including characterisation, script work, ensemble, rhythm, improvisation, physical theatre, stage craft, voice work, stage fighting, story telling and performance preparation. Young people are coached through a process of questioning to encourage independent thinking, self discovery and ownership of work.
The company makes use of the fully equipped theatre and studio space and shares the space with the Nonentities Society - the adult arm of the society. Presenting performances annually the group contributes to professional the programme at the theatre. It is hoped that all graduates of the Nonentities Youth Theatre progress on to the Nonentities Society to further their performance career.
