Helen has worked professionally in theatre since graduating from university with a degree in drama in 1997. She specialises in working with young people having started her career as a teacher/actor in 1998 with Theatre in Education Company 'The Play House' (now part of Birmingham Rep). During her time with 'The Play House' Helen devised, performed and wrote education resources for numerous programmes in primary and secondary schools both locally and nationally.
Her most notable projects included a week long drama residency in a young offenders unit, production of a short film with young people on the Gallery 37 project, teaching on the HND course at Birmingham Theatre School and numerous schools based drama projects for organisations such as Creative Partnerships, many of which culminated in the young people devising and performing their own show. Throughout all her years of working in the field of theatre and drama, Helen has always enjoyed working with young people, helping them to learn and develop and she is a firm believer in the power of drama to unlock potential and give a voice to those who may not otherwise be heard.
She is very excited about taking on the youth theatre at Kidderminster Rose and is really looking forward to working with the young people of the Wyre Forest to make high quality theatre that they can be proud of.
