Availability

There are several ways to indicate your availability, the first is to attend one of the auditions (there is another on 21st June), fill in and return the enclosed form, or visit the web site and download the form or fill in the on-line form.

Those that declare their availability will be considered for parts before others.

"We need as many of you as possible to be around for the New Season.

Many parts for "All Ages" to fill.

I do want to use the full talent of the Society. hence the Auditions, but also make yourselves known to me at other times and make sure I make a note of your names!

[You all know I won't remember you all!! So wear a name card if poss!! ]

Liz Cole will say in her usual charming way "You don't remember any "so & so" thing anyway" and I think I agree with her!" DE

Bosom Friends

We have received a big Thank You from Bosom Friends. The result of their collection during Ladies Down Under was a massive £889.38.

Many congratulations to the cast and crew for such a resounding success of a play and for the suggestion of the collection. Yet another good news story to spread the word about the Nonentities and The Rose.

Publicity

The Publicity Committee has been working hard over the past few months on new ideas to continue successful advertising for the next season.

We are in the process (with a lot of help from Paul) of putting together the new brochure for the next season (continuing with our 5for4 offer), and I am sure you will all notice a big difference in its appearance. The programmes for the performances will also be changed, so that they are in keeping with the new brochures!

We are looking into the possibility of having a banner displayed by the Town Hall in Kidderminster to advertise the fact that our new season is due to start, and we will be putting advertisements in the local papers and running competitions in The Chronicle (although I am afraid as members of The Nonentities you are not allowed to enter – but keep helping out behind the scenes to get your free tickets to our shows).

We are also working on new questionnaires with which to approach our audiences with in the hope that we will continue to improve the advertising for the theatre.

As always we will be looking for help to distribute the new season brochures, so if anybody has any suggestions of where you feel we are missing an advertising opportunity please let me know (publicity@rosetheatre.co.uk) or feel free to ask for some from the Box Office so that you can distribute amongst friends, family and neighbours.

If anybody feels that they would be able to help our small committee please get in touch with me via email, or by leaving a message for me at the Box Office KT

Dress Code

At the committee meeting on the 2nd June the question of dress code was raised. The committee reconfirmed the policy for the dress code.

Box Office - Men - Dress suit & Bow Tie Women - White top (blouse, jumper or T shirt) with black skirt or trousers. May wear a black jacket.

Foyer - Men - Dress suit & Bow Tie Women - White top (blouse, jumper or T shirt) with black skirt or trousers. Also to wear a ROSE [Roses & pins are in the Coffee Bar] May wear a black jacket.

Bar - Men and Women - White above the waist and black below, practical shoes (preferred black). (Smart but not your best it can get messy)

Youth Theatre

Saturday the 6th June saw another success for the Youth Theatre. A set of six play extracts was designed to give as many as possible of the members a chance to perform. As the show was in the studio tickets were allocated first to the parents of the children, and very soon (and well before the performance date) all of the tickets were sold.

Another congratulation to Emma for her excellent preparation, and to the children who have once again shown their enthusiasm and capabilities. Thanks to all of the crew who made it possible, John, Kelly, Richard and David.

Clear Out Day

Saturday 11th July at 10am

We are organising our usual annual clear out day for Saturday 11th July. Work will be concentrated in the main house and the workshop.

Lunch will be provided (by Debbie, Kath, and Mo)!

We will need another cleaning session after the work is complete in the new toilet. On that occasion we will clean the bar, foyer, studio and green room.

Toilet for the disabled

We are going to make a determined effort during this summer break to finish the the new toilet. We will be starting on Sunday 12th July and will be working on it most weekends and during the weeks till it is finished.

If you are willing to offer some time please talk to Keith Higgins and we will contact you nearer the time.

Chaperones

Thanks to the three people that have offered themselves for training as chaperones. We will be in touch after the summer break to discuss the next steps.

Emma Lashford will complete her training on the 30th June, and be the first person in our theatre to be registered.

So far we have been told that for our theatre 4 is the minimum number that we will require for performances. If we need any more volunteers we will let you know in a later newsletter.

Finances

With the ticket sales holding up being so good we are targeting a near record profit. This is very pleasing as we have had some serious expenditure on the building, and have more to come over this summer.

Congratulations to Do for choosing a season of major successes, and to the Publicity group (brilliantly lead by Kerena) for their ideas and efforts.

Subs

Please remember that your subs for the new season are due on the 1st July. If you do not have a standing order set up please remember to let the office have your cash or cheque.

The subs are full membership £35, student & OAP £20, Associate £5.

New Season Brochures

We will be filling the envelopes for the distribution of the new season brochures on 18th & 19th August. If you are available and would like to help please contact the office.
