Trap for a Lonely Man was the first revival from Playhouse days, a curious, low-key mystery much concerned with French police methods, with Christopher Blumer as the inspector for whom the end justified the means.  The double bill, The Private Ear and The Public Eye, was memorable for the first appearance of Richard Casewell, an actor of whom much more was to be heard.

The season's Shakespeare was Romeo and Juliet, with Martin Murphy and Pam Meredith as the star-crossed lovers.  Hedda Gabler had Joy Brockway as the general's daughter and two talkative pieces, The Rape of the Belt and The Queen and the Rebels, completed the season's work, the final play marking the last appearance of John Hunter before he left the stage for front of house.
