A brand new double-bill of exceptional plays by the renowned Lichfield writer and theatre reviewer Phil Preece. These new pieces are both wonderfully clever, new, sophisticated and outstanding! The first piece 'Almost Human' deals with geek, recluse and agoraphobic Rob Smallman. A man who spends far too much time alone and at his computer. Years ago he left a programme running in the background 'Days of Dynasties' and to his shock and horror a superior being has evolved and stepped into our world intent on domination! Will he stop her or will his efforts lead to a conclusion that no one would ever expect? The second piece 'Precious Jewel' is set in the reign of Elizabeth 1st, on a stormy night in Staffordshire. The Queen and company have been hunting but a storm interrupts their pleasure and they take refuge in a large house....but...the Queen soon realises that all is not as it seems, and somewhere in the house there is a baby being born, and, there is a Catholic priest!.... Atmospheric and beautifully written these two plays will leave audiences wanting more as the stories twist and turn in directions that could never be guessed! Paolo Allen (Artistic Director)
