Description
We all know the expression “Two’s company, three’s a crowd!” but is that where Swan Playwrights are going to pitch their responses to this, their latest writing challenge? Or will they take the restriction on the number of actors to three only and use those three bodies to somehow populate the stage with a sense of many more characters – a veritable crowd! Maybe a crowd is expected – at a football game or political rally, say – and only three people turn up?
Whatever, come and support three plays of a half hour or more in which local writers display their imagination and stagecraft. Expect plays involving love triangles, hat-swapping, relationships unbalanced by a third member, disappointment at a poor turn-out, indeed all sorts of responses to this unusual brief. Enjoy an evening likely to be composed of mixed genre delights: comedy, thriller, something a little more challenging.
The three plays (each written for two female and one male actor) will be presented script-in-hand and followed by a talk-back opportunity.
