Description
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Shakers, the trendy bar in the main street where the neon light shines out into the night, tempting passers-by. It's the place where dreams come true, where time stands still, where everyone wants to be seen - from the checkout girls to the chinless yuppies..."
This is a bitter-sweet and deliciously amusing portrayal of four cocktail waitresses’ loves and lives. The play looks behind the image of the smiling cocktail waitress, on a typical night in a trendy bar. The cast not only portray the down-trodden waitresses, but also the people they serve - from the sleazy businessman, the girls on a night out, and the lads about town...
We are given a wickedly funny glimpse of the world of Adele, Carol, Mel and Nicky, and the reality that lurks behind the plastic palms and pina coladas.
