Press Release
A new script by a writer new to The Rose stage should send the Winter chill into decline from 21st January at The Rose.
Liz Cole, Artistic Director of The Nonentities, likes to start the New Year
with an up to the minute comedy. Early last year it was Straight and Narrow
and in 2002 a delightful story of a woman trying to find love through a dating
agency before it is too late and her gossipy, demanding mother takes up the
whole of her life. Will she find her dream lover or be condemned to the companionship
of the creepy and the calculating?
James Robson, the writer of Mr Wonderful, is a real talent, according to Liz.
"As soon as I read it, I knew we had to do it. Some plays, all very worthy
and entertaining in their own way, just don't make it through to final selection.
This was always top of my list, though. It's so well written. Audiences will
love the characters, the humour, the surprises in the plot and the music. The
weather might be cold but this will bring New Year cheer - but not before you've
dropped a tear."
