A bungalow in Essex, owned by a spoilt discontented widow, waited on hand and foot by her shy impoverished niece, a truculent cook and a simple-minded maid, is hardly likely to interest Scotland Yard. However, the disappearance of a guest at a nearby hotel, and the arrival of Dan, from the same hotel, turns all their lives upside down.
Emlyn Williams wrote and starred in 'Night Must Fall' in the early thirties at the incredibly young age of 22. It ran for more than 430 performances in London before transferring to New York, where it was equally successful, and was later made into a film
